Insight
RE/MAX of Southern Africa was experiencing huge growth within their organisation and was struggling with the administrative load which resulted from centrally managing a growing number of offices and associates in five countries in Southern Africa. Similar problems were being experienced in other international regions.
Process
White Wall Web created a centralised online database of all RE/MAX members. Administrative tasks and correspondence was managed using email and web environments, and upon specification, new system features were added over time, according to priority.
Value
As of the end of 2008, the system manages over 2,500 users in over 175 offices in the region. It consists of website, property listing portal, corporate extranet and head office administration components. The system tracks over 10 years worth of data, and manages in excess of R 20 billion worth of transactions per year in Southern Africa alone. The network of websites is seen by nearly 1 million visitors per year.
Subsequent to the success in Southern Africa, the system has been rolled out to RE/MAX in both New Zealand and Australia, and is now used by over 3,500 users in 8 countries. The property listing portal serves over 75,000 active properties to over 100,000 website users per month.
Technology
The solution was built using PHP 5 and MySQL on a custom developed framework code named “muffin”. The Intellectual Property is held by White Wall Web and is called “pulse”.
