Corporate Social Investment
White Wall Web firmly believes not only in having a positive impact on our employees, clients and partners, but also on the wider community in which we do business. With this in mind we have collaborated with a respected team of Workplace transformation consultants, in order to set specific BEE targets for our business. We are a level 4 contributor.
We have set employment equity and skills development targets that will enhance the representation of our staff and increase our levels of compliance. As well as offering internships for young IT staff looking for experience in the industry, we are an annual participant in the University of Cape Town Graduate recruitment programme where we have access to a pool of some of the most talented previously disadvantaged graduates in the country.
We endeavour to develop all of our people to their greatest potential, so that they may work and live at a level that adds great value to the organisation, themselves, and their families and loved ones. White Wall Web therefore undertakes to facilitate and promote the continuous training and development of all our staff, with a specific focus on those from previously disadvantaged backgrounds. This is done with the aim of realising the goals of both White Wall Web and its employees through the increase in the employee’s level of effectiveness and the quality of service they provide.
Our major suppliers have excellent BEE records, and we aim to identify smaller businesses that are BEE compliant who can supply our business with non-core services and products.
Socio Economic Development
White Wall Web sees the many challenges experienced in our local environment as opportunities to make positive differences in the lives of those less fortunate. We are currently investigating several avenues in which White Wall Web can have an impact on those who live and work in our local region. We specifically have plans with one of our partners to help facilitate the up-skilling of previously disadvantaged young people through running a comprehensive non-profit training academy teaching very technical IT skills, such as programming and networking, as there is a tremendous skills shortage in the South African ICT market.
In 2009 and 2010 White Wall Web was a proud sponsor of Net Prophet, South Africa’s biggest technology start-up event hosted annually by the RAMP Foundation, a non-profit organisation focused on inspiring, training and equipping South African entrepreneurs operating in the local technology space.
With our roots as a tech start-up, we are passionate about encouraging young entrepreneurs to pursue their goals, and Net Prophet provides the ideal platform to do so, as it forms the largest gathering of tech entrepreneurs, VC’s and tech enthusiasts on this continent.
Net Prophet is not only for industry experts, but for anyone wanting to learn how they can make better business sense of the ever-changing web-technology landscape.
