Just a quick one. An article showing internet growth stats in SA: http://www.bizcommunity.com/Article/196/16/15552.html
Comments about age and language are interesting. should more SA sites be translated into Afrikaans as an option?
The growth of broadband in SA is certainly behind this. Any other observations/comments?

English is a universal language (at least on the technology scene in South Africa). Though it could add value to some sites by having a Afrikaans section, I cant see that it would really benefit anyone but the most inexperienced site users.
To successfully navigate though the internet your English skills need to be adequate, but in the end it would probably depend on your clients’ needs.
This morning I read an interesting article about internet usage in south africa. I think the statistics answer some of the posted questions http://www.ideate.co.za/2007/06/19/south-africas-exploding-internet-nielsen
